Across business, professional excellence, media, public service, health and wellness, culture and community leadership, extraordinary women are building businesses, leading organizations, creating change, preserving culture, breaking barriers and inspiring the next generation.

Recognizing founders, entrepreneurs, executives and business leaders who demonstrate achievement, innovation, growth and leadership.

Professional Excellence

Recognizing women demonstrating exceptional achievement and leadership in their profession, including law, finance, real estate, healthcare, education, engineering, technology and other professional fields.

Business & Entrepreneurship

Recognizing women making an impact through journalism, broadcasting, digital media, content creation, film, fashion, arts, design and other creative industries.

Culture & Heritage

Recognizing women creating meaningful change through community leadership, service, nonprofit work, volunteering, advocacy and initiatives that positively impact others.

Leadership & Public Service

Recognizing women demonstrating leadership and influence in government, civic life, public institutions, boards, organizations and public service.

Woman of Influence 2027

The premier recognition of the Women Power of Influence Awards, honouring a woman whose exceptional achievements, leadership, influence and impact distinguish her across Alberta.

Health & Wellness Leadership

Recognizing women making an impact through healthcare, wellness, mental wellbeing, fitness or initiatives supporting healthier individuals and communities.

Community Leadership & Impact

Recognizing women helping preserve, celebrate and advance South Asian culture, heritage, language, traditions and arts while contributing to Alberta's multicultural landscape.

These two signature honours are selected separately by INSPIRE and are not individual public nomination categories.

Trailblazer & Lifetime Achievement Award

Recognizing an established South Asian woman whose sustained achievements and contributions have broken barriers, opened doors and created a lasting legacy.

Young Woman of Influence

Recognizing an emerging South Asian woman under 30 who demonstrates exceptional achievement, leadership, initiative, influence and potential.

about the nominations

• Be a South Asian woman

• Be 18 years of age or older

• Live, work, study, own a business or demonstrate meaningful impact in Alberta

• Demonstrate achievement, leadership, influence or meaningful contribution relevant to the selected category

• For Young Woman of Influence, the nominee must be under 30 as of January 30, 2027.

Self-nominations are welcome. You may also nominate a colleague, friend, family member, professional, entrepreneur, leader or another deserving woman whose story deserves recognition.

There is no public voting component. Recognition is based on the strength of the nomination and the Women Power of Influence selection process. Sponsorship does not influence the nomination, evaluation or selection process.

HOW NOMINATIONS ARE EVALUATED

Achievement & Excellence - 25%

Demonstrated accomplishments, professional or personal excellence and significant milestones.

Leadership & Influence - 25%

Evidence of leadership, mentorship, influence and the ability to inspire or create opportunities for others.

Meaningful Impact - 25%

The measurable or meaningful difference the nominee has made within her profession, business, organization, industry or community.

Resilience & Innovation - 15%

Evidence of innovation, perseverance, overcoming barriers, creating new opportunities or challenging expectations.

Character & Contribution - 10%

Integrity, responsibility and contribution beyond individual success.
